In no particular order, I give you my list of New Year's Resolutions! :)
1. Maintain my 4.0 GPA in Grad School

I have been SO blessed to go back to school to get my Master's degree and an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology. It hasn't always been easy, but I've worked really hard to learn as much as I can. I have one 'real' semester left, and I'm really hoping to finish it strong!
2. Continue Knitting
In November my friend Kristen taught me how to knit, and since that time I've tried to keep learning through youtube and online websites. :) I made this scarf for my friend Stacie in honor of the Orange Bowl, and although it wasn't anywhere near perfect, I am proud of it! Hopefully I can make some fun projects in 2011 and watch my skills continue to progress!
3. Read as Much as Possible

4. Learn as Much as I Can About School Psychology

This year is going to be so formative in my career as a school psychologist. In February I'm traveling to San Francisco to go to the National Association of School Psychologist's annual conference. And in August I'll be beginning my internship as a school psychologist. I really want to soak up everything that I can about this field!
5. Love and Support My Husband
While this goes without saying, I want to make a special effort this year to love and support Mathis to the fullest of my abilities. He has so many dreams and aspirations, and I want to continue to challenge him to succeed in reaching those goals. I am so proud of all that he continues to pursue and accomplish!
6. Run Two Marathons and Three Half-Marathons
I'm running my first marathon in 8 days, and I'll be running my second marathon in April. I'm signed up for a half-marathon in March, but I'd like to make sure I run two more half-marathons throughout this year. I know that my mileage might take a little hit in August when I start working full-time (and spending two hours daily in the car), but I'm still hoping to make running a big priority this year! :)
7. Spend More Time in God's Word

Last year I made a resolution to read the entire bible cover to cover. I didn't keep that resolution despite many attempts to follow it. I'll be real honest -- I'm not sure what my specific goals for this year are going to be. I know that I desire to be reading God's word on a daily basis, but I'm not sure what this looks like. I don't know if I should start with a specific study or just a certain book. I'm still working this one out, but I know I want to make it a priority.
8. Love and Support My Friends and Family
In addition to our great families, Mathis and I have a great community of friends out here in Virginia. I hope that this next year I can be mindful of how to support those around me. I want to love my long-distance friends as much as I can, and be there for my friends down who are right down the road. I hope to make a lot of great memories with our families, and that some of them can visit us out here in Virginia! I am so blessed by those around me, and I hope I can return the blessings as much as possible!
9. Keep Blogging

This shouldn't be too hard to keep, since I love blogging, but I do want to make sure I continue to find time to journal our life. :) I not only love writing on my own blog, but I love keeping up with others and learning new things from other blogs.
10. Eat Healthy

This is something Mathis and I really tried to be mindful of in 2010. We learned a lot about food last year, and we want to continue to learn more. We went to the farmer's market this morning, and this is something we want to continue to do this upcoming year. We love buying local food, and choosing foods that are healthy for us!
11. Be Open to New Things

This year I want to be mindful of what God is teaching me. I don't want to get stuck in my old ways and old habits. I want to be open to new things -- to have my eyes and heart wide open to what He's doing around me and through me.
Praise God for the grace and beauty of a brand NEW year!!

Such a great list... #11 is similar to my New Years "resolution" I promise I didn't copy :)
Lion Brand Yarn has a website full of free knitting patterns. They have beginner patterns all the way to experienced. I use the site all the time for crocheting patterns. Most of the yarn they sell can be found at JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, and Michael's.
