Easter Sunday

We had such a great Easter weekend.  As I mentioned before, parts of it were lazy for me.  But while I spent some time being lazy, Mathis spent the time working hard.  He is facing a VERY tough Ph.D. week, and prayers over him would be greatly appreciated.  But on Sunday he put the work away.

We treated ourselves to some Starbucks on our way to church and were blessed by an amazing worship service.  The part I loved the most about Sunday was watching five believers become baptized.  It was beautiful, and such a sweet reminder of the life we now have through Jesus' death and resurrection on the cross.  Our church family means the world to Mathis and I, and they have become our rock out here. I am so blessed to know them, and we enjoyed a beautiful Easter celebration together.

After church, Mathis and I had some friends over for a lunch. It was a great afternoon of eating outside on our deck.  We had fun conversations, and I even got a little sunburned... oops!  The weather here is amazing right now.  This is the time of year I love the most in Virginia.  Everything is green, green, green, and the weather is warm -- the kind of warm that you can enjoy.  I love running in this weather, reading on the deck, and enjoying dinners outside when it cools down at night.  Texas heat drives me crazy... it's so hot you never want to leave your house.  This kind of weather is entirely different, and I love the summers here!!

Last night we went up the street to watch The King's Speech with some friends.  Mathis had already seen it, but I hadn't.  It was a very good movie, and a great way to end the weekend.  I'm off again today so I'll be catching up on housework, schoolwork, and trying to run off all the calories I ate this weekend. Happy Monday!
