Highlights from our Texas Trip

We had a great trip to Texas.  It was short and sweet!  I didn't take many pictures, but here's a few highlights from our trip to San Antonio...

Mexican Food!! :)

We ate so much Mexican food while we were in San Antonio, and I loved every bite!  This is a picture of my mom and I in front of Alamo Cafe on the first night we arrived.  We ate plenty of breakfast tacos, and we also enjoyed a very special dinner out at La Paloma Blanca with Mathis' family.

Cupcakes!

Yes, my first two highlights have to do with food.  That's just how we roll on vacation.  We were really excited to find this cupcake place, and despite a tad too much frosting -- they were fabulous!!! :)

Time with Family!

This was by far the most important (& fun!) part of our trip to Texas.  On Thursday I was able to spend most of the day with my mom at her school.  It was fun getting to spend time with her there and meeting a lot of the kids and teachers that she works with.

On Friday, my mother-in-law treated me to a pedicure, and then we saw the new Pirates movie with Mathis.  That night we got to see a lot of family on Mathis' side for dinner.  The next morning I went for my long run, and Mathis' sister, Hope did some of the run with me! :)  We spent the day on Saturday going out to Seguin to see more family.  Mathis' brother, Josh, his wife, Shelly and their two children just moved into a beautiful home in Seguin, and it was fun getting to see it.  That night we had dinner all together down on the Riverwalk.  Here's a picture of me with Mathis' sisters, Hannah and Hope, from earlier in the week.

It was a great visit, but we're also really glad to be home.  Unfortunately I caught some type of stomach bug that I brought home with me.... :(  I haven't eaten much of anything the past two days, and I'm still not feeling very well.  Blah!  Hopefully today I'll be able to do a few things around the house, but I think that I'll be taking it pretty easy today.

I am amazed that Gigi's has made it to San Antonio! The owner is a friend of mine and opened her first little shop here in Nashville about 4-5 years ago. CRAZY!

I love San Antonio. Must.visit.soon
